Existence of weighted pseudo almost periodic solutions to some classes of hyperbolic evolution equations

This paper is concerned with the study of weighted pseudo almost periodic solutions to some classes of hyperbolic differential equations. Upon making some suitable assumptions, the existence and uniqueness of a weighted pseudo almost periodic solution is obtained. To illustrate our main result, we study the existence of a weighted pseudo almost periodic solution to a system of partial differential equations arising in control systems described by abstract retarded functional-differential equations with feedback control.     

On Impulsive Hyperbolic Differential Inclusions with?Nonlocal Initial Conditions

This paper is focused mainly upon existence of solutions for a second-order impulsive hyperbolic differential inclusions with nonlocal initial conditions. By using some well-known fixed-point theorems, existence theorems are established when the multivalued map has convex or nonconvex values. As applications of these main theorems, some consequences are given for the sublinear growth cases. Y.-K. Well-posed constraint-preserving boundary conditions for the AA formulation of Einstein's equations

In this paper, we address the problem of artificial boundary conditions for the symmetric linearized hyperbolic formulation of Einstein's equations introduced in [A.M. Alekseenko, D.N. Arnold, New first-order formulation for the Einstein equations, Phys. Rev. D (3) 68 (6) (2003) 064013, 6 pp.]. We prescribe simple boundary conditions that make the problem well-posed and preserve the constraints.     

Generalised energy conservation law for wave equations with variable propagation speed

We investigate the long time behaviour of the L²-energy of solutions to wave equations with variable speed of propagation. The novelty of the approach is the combination of estimates for higher order derivatives of the coefficient with a stabilisation property.     

Classification, reduction, group invariant solutions and conservation laws of the Gardner-KP equation

In this paper, symmetries and group invariant solutions to the Gardner-KP equation are obtained by using the direct symmetry method. At the same time, we find the corresponding Lie algebra, optimal system, classification and the similarity reductions to the equation, respectively. Our exact solutions generalize the corresponding results obtained by Wazwaz. In addition, the conservation laws of Gardner-KP equation are also given.     

REGULARITY OF ENTROPY SOLUTIONS TO NONCONVEX SCALAR CONSERVATION LAWS WITH MONOTONE INITIAL DATA

We prove that for a given strictly increasing initial datum in Ck, the solution of the initial value problem is piecewise Ck smooth except for flux functions of nonconvex conservation laws in a certain subset of C^k＋1 of first category, defined in the range of the initial datum.     

Symmetries,Lagrangian and Conservation Laws for the Maxwell Equations

The evolution equations of Maxwell’s equations has a Lagrangian written in terms of the electric E and magnetic H fields, but admit neither Lorentz nor conformal transformations. The additional equations ∇⋅E=0, ∇⋅H=0 guarantee the Lorentz and conformal invariance, but the resulting system is overdetermined, and hence does not have a Lagrangian. The aim of the present paper is to attain a harmony between these two contradictory properties and provide a correspondence between symmetries and conservation laws using the Lagrangian for the evolutionary part of Maxwell’s equations.     

ON GREEN＇S FUNCTION FOR HYPERBOLIC-PARABOLIC SYSTEMS

We study the Green＇s function for a general hyperbolic-parabolic system, including the Navier-Stokes equations for compressible fluids and the equations for magnetohydrodynamics. More generally, we consider general systems under the basic Kawashima- Shizuta type of conditions. The first result is to make precise the secondary waves with subscale structure, revealing the nature of coupling of waves pertaining to different characteristic families. The second result is on the continuous differentiability of the Green＇s function with respect to a small parameter when the coefficients of the system are smooth functions of that parameter. The results significantly improve previous results obtained by the authors.
